Pentecost at Salisbury

What an exciting week to participate in the life of Salisbury Cathedral!  First came Monday, where we remembered St. Aldhelm on the 1300th anniversary of his death.  Then, we remembered St. Augustine on Tuesday (transferred from Monday).  And now, the opportunity to sing in the choir for Pentecost - somebody pinch me...I'm dreaming, right???

What a fantastic way to end our time here, receiving the power of the Holy Spirit in this ancient and sacred space. The bishop was even present, Nigel brought out the "incense bucket," the West doors were opened, and everyone, including the choir was wearing red vestments.  And did I mention it was another beautiful weather day?

And to top everything off, at evensong we processed to the Trinity Chapel to observe the Eve of the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, where we sang a brief anthem, recited the Angelus and said some prayers.  Liturgical heaven for a whole week!
